We will be displaying several of Jay Flanagan's one of a kind furniture. The purpose of Bare Hands Woodworking is to revive the quality and craftsmanship of furniture built by individual artisans prior to the advent of mass production. Every piece is one of a kind, built entirely by hand with restored antique woodworking tools in an electricity-free workshop. Jay Flanagan exclusively uses traditional joinery including draw-bored mortise and tenons, through and half blind dovetails, frame and panel doors and carcasses, tongue & groove and shiplap joints. He only uses non-toxic glues, dyes and plant-based penetrating oil and beeswax finishes.
