Over the past 4 years, the SOIL Outdoor Learning Lab has transformed from an ambitious vision and concept into a thriving, million-dollar community asset. Operating as a unique dual-purpose facility led by the Durango School District and working in partnership with Durango Parks and Recreation, the SOIL Lab serves as an active, hands-on educational hub during the school year, while also delivering an open-access public space for community workshops and events, volunteer days, and garden bed rentals.

Project Manager Charlie Love and Garden Manager Brooke Minnich will share a celebratory look back at the thousands of K-12 students who engaged in standards-based field trips this past year, outline upcoming public programs for local residents, and provide an exclusive sneak peek of what’s next (it’s BIG!)
