This donation based course hosted by Durango Doula and Cafe of Life will cover birth and pregnancy topics such as: nutrition, informed consent and refusal, GBS testing, alternatives to standard procedures, community resources and referrals, meditation and breathing techniques, early labor comfort measures at home, natural induction and augmentation options, the sexual nature of birth and hormonal movements fundemental to labor, anatomy and physiology of birth, newborn procedures, and well family care in the early postpartum period. The course is designed to offer more than what to expect, and more of what do YOU want from your birth experience. There will be a potluck style lunch and movement based activities to keep us rolling through an 8hr crash course designed to prepare you for an empowered and pleasing birth experience.
