Durango Nature Studies' Green Laser Constellation Snowshoe
Fri, February 6, 2015
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Instructor: John Buting
Time: 6:30-8:30 pm
Cost: free for members, $10 non-members, snowshoe rental $3
Come join DNS and astronomer John Buting for a program first--a winter, dark-sky snowshoe complete with green laser constellation show. Full Moon winter snowshoe hikes have long been popular at DNS, but this is the first time we will do a dark-sky one. The green laser pointer is a superb tool for identifying all the winter constellations and teaching some of their multi-cultural mythology. Please bring binoculars too if you have them, as there are numerous beautiful binocular targets easily viewed with the aid of the laser pointer.
