This independent childbirth education course covers topics often neglected in traditional childbirth prep classes and many books in a supportive small group setting. We will cover preparations for natural childbirth including labor positions, meditation, relaxation techniques, hiring a doula, addressing fears and concerns around birth and birth options, and more. Standard hospital and home birth procedures, informed consent, writing a birth plan, and understanding options and alternatives are also discussed. The four week class will be divided to allow families to drop in for one class or to complete the 8 hour series. Though this class focuses on natural childbirth in the hospital, all families are invited to attend regardless of birth plan or chosen place of delivery.
