A local film premiere will bring Durango history to life at a one night screening on April 21st at El Moro Spirits & Tavern. The documentary Tragedy at El Moro delves deep into the archives to investigate the tragic shooting death of Sheriff William J. Thompson at the hands of the acting town Marshall, Jessie C. Stansel.

The new El Moro sits at the same address as the old El Moro Saloon that existed over one hundred years ago and is a key location in the telling of the tragic shootout. Ticket holders can expect to see members of History Alive Durango in period dress and enjoy the unique ambience of the El Moro during the screening. Each ticket includes a free beer or cocktail and appetizers to enjoy during this 45 min film. Seating is limited for this one night only event.
