The Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering Parade, always a family favorite, is one of the largest motorless parades in the country. Festivities begin at 9:30 with local music groups performing at various locations up and down Main Street. An Old West gunfight will take place in front of the historic Strater Hotel to kick off the parade which starts at 10:00 a.m. at the train depot.
