Durango Nature Studies announces its fall Volunteer Naturalist Training for its Children Discovering Nature Program(K-5th) and Exploring Science in Nature Program (6th-8*th):
September 2, 6:00-8:30 pm at the Durango Public Library
September 11 $ 12, 8:30 am-4:00 pm at the Nature Center
Become a fully qualified volunteer naturalist, ready to lead science-based, hikes for kids in kindergarten through 8th grades on topics such as watersheds, animal adaptations, ecosystems, weather, and much more. Volunteers will receive a free detailed manual as part of the training. Nature walks take place during September and October at the Durango Nature Center.
No prior experience is necessary, just a love of nature and kids! Becoming a volunteer naturalist is a great way to spend time outdoors, learn the natural history of the area, meet like-minded people, and gain experience teaching.
