About Timothy MacDonald: Tim returned to Christian Science after drifting away from it during his years in college and service in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Struggling with a series of problems that had no apparent answers, he remembered the warmth and closeness to God he had felt as a child. He had a deep yearning to feel God’s love again and to know God as He really is. The understanding that unfolded in answer to this yearning brought healing to those problems and convinced Tim of the impossibility of serving both God and mammon. So in 1976 he resigned from the Navy in order to devote all of his time to understanding God and living that understanding. Later that year he took Primary class instruction and immediately entered into the public practice of Christian Science—becoming a Journal-listed Christian Science practitioner in 1978 and a Christian Science teacher in 1982.
