Concert Hall @ The Park - In Your Backyard
5:30pm / Virtual Listen
Alpine Bank of Durango and the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College are continuing the free summer "Concert Hall @ The Park" series with singer-songwriter, Alice Wallace    TUNE IN HERE: https://www.durangoconcerts.com/shows-tickets/calendar/event-details/evr/1/concert-hall-the-park-series Wallace's musical family moved to rural St. Cloud, Florida when she was a child. She grew up around the sounds of her parents playing guitars and singing with Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris as some of their favorites and she was inspired by '70s-era Linda Ronstadt. She says, "I really taught myself to sing by mimicking their styles. The powerful belt that Linda has, the emotive lilt to Emmylou's voice so I tried to navigate those different elements to help me find my own voice."   She first picked up the guitar at age 10 with her dad teaching her to finger-pick at 15. By her senior year in high school, Wallace was performing original compositions at the local bookstore. In college she discovered yodeling, the haunting vocal style that blends blues, country, and western. Wallace's own "A Little Yodel" added her to the ranks of legends Patsy Montana and Carolina Cotton. She resides in Nashville and is making her way in the big music world.   Support the Community Concert Hall and the Concert Hall @ the Park series with your donations at https://www.paypal.me/FLCConcertHall
