DHS Skills USA team is sending 8 kids to NATIONALS, they need our community support so Happy Pappy's is having a fundraiser for them. There will be free beer with every 2-$5 raffle tickets purchased, we will have over $600 of Durango Harley SWAG to raffle off as well as other companies in town.   Please help us support these kids that don't get as much support as sports teams!!!!

The bridge behind Rotary Park.  12:30 VFW Post Open House, Lunch will be served.   There will be a membership table available at the Open House for those wishing to join the VFW.

We will be having reduced adoption fees, yappy hour thanks to Thirsty Rooster Trailer Bar, games and more! Also, to celebrate our 50 year anniversary, we are doing a 50/50 raffle where half of the proceeds go to the animals and the other half will go to one lucky raffle ticket winner! Our goal is to have 50 adoptions to celebrate 50 years! Let's clear the shelter in time for our kennel renovation!

The 8th Annual Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering Outdoor Concert & Barn Dance featuring the very popular Tim Sullivan Band will be held at the lovely River Bend Ranch. Plan to take advantage of the Silent Auction featuring great artwork and items from local businesses. Bring your own picnic or Lone Spur Café will be serving a choice of their delicious pulled pork or chicken sandwiches, coleslaw or beans,and a drink for only $10. Cuevas Tacos Food Truck will also be serving up tasty Mexican Street Tacos--3 for $10 along with a drink. Your choice of 5 different fillings available. Scoops of wonderful Cream Bean Berry Ice Cream will be offered for dessert! Tickets $15 through June 5th. After June 5th, tickets $20 online and at the door. Free admission for children under 12. Tables and chairs will be located inside and out, but you might want to consider bringing your own lawn chairs/blanket if you would like to sit under the old willows by the beautiful 5 acre lake. Sorry, no pets. This event is a fundraiser for the Gathering and its youth programs.

The Badly Bent

The Badly Bent has been playing bluegrass music since 1998. Based in Durango, Colorado, the band was the winner of the 2005 Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition and has performed at over 100 festivals across the United States. The band has recently released its third CD, "Too Late To Care', which follows previous releases of "The Badly Bent" and "Olive or Twist." For James Ranch, we will be a trio comprised of Cindi Trautmann (fiddle, vocals), Patrick Dressen (guitar, vocals), and Mark Epstein (banjo, vocals).

Smelter Mountain Boys

Radioactive bluegrass from Durango, CO Smelter Mountain Boys have become known in the Four Corners area for traditional bluegrass with tight instrumentation and high vocal harmonies since their founding in 2018. It's a bit of North Carolina meets Colorado with Corey Clark bringing an extensive catalog of bluegrass favorites and standards he learned in bluegrass' birthplace. He's backed up by some Colorado boys that have grown up around the campground and festivals and jam circles of the Rocky Mountains; Steve Labowskie on bass and vocals, Pete Donahue on mandolin and vocals who also well known in Durango's punk rock scene and Eli Emmitt on lead guitar. Eli's flatpicking skills were honed while learning the "family business" of Colorado style bluegrass and jamgrass (the last name might be familiar), he is also a jazz guitar student at Fort Lewis College.

The Durango Farmers Market is a venue for local agriculturalists, ranchers and artisans to meet and share their harvest and talents with the Durango community. At our market you have the opportunity to meet face to face with the producers and learn more about their growing methods. Vendors post their farming practices at their booth and most follow organic growing methods.   Our market also offers hot ready to eat food from local vendors, value added foods such as jams, jellies and sauces and local artisans who make high-quality handcrafted items. All vendors must produce their goods within our five-county radius ensuring fresh produce and locally made goods. We also have live music performances each weekend as well as community information booths for non-profits and groups that promote our market values of local, sustainable and healthy living.
