This is a community donation drive collecting: 2 Bathroom Hand Towels Liquid Hand Soap The items gathered will be placed inside our Home Handbags, a market tote filed with household essentials and donated to victims of domestic violence transitioning out of homelessness into secure and permanent housing. These purposeful handbags are donated to our local nonprofit recipient, Housing Solutions for the Southwest, supporting and adding value to their mission.

Pain is not always an accurate indication of what is happening in the body. Despite widespread beliefs about pain, we have the capacity to rewire the neurological processes that send danger signals from the peripheral nervous system to the brain, and we can change our pain!   Lynn Wickersham has been teaching yoga for 12 years and holds a Certificate in Pain Care Yoga. She teaches yogic practices for pain management incorporating breath work, meditation, mantra, mudra, and gentle movement. These techniques help people living with persistent pain to move with more ease, experience less pain, and improve quality of life.    Participants are asked to contact Lynn (lynnellen2065@gmail.com) for a brief consultation and to complete an intake form prior to attending Pain Care Yoga classes. No prior yoga is experience required. Chairs, bolsters, and other props will be provided for comfort and safety.

The Professional Women's Network of Durango's Inspiring Speaker Series is thrilled to welcome Lorelei Cloud, Southern Ute Tribal Council Member, as November's special guest. Passionate about helping the Southern Ute youth, women and elders, Councilwoman Cloud will share the story of her path and experiences as a professional woman and her work as an active member of the Southern Ute Tribal Council.   PWN's Inspiring Speaker Series features appetizers, networking and a cash bar. The Roost will now be hosting weekly Trivia Factory nights every Tuesday starting at 6:30pm until 8:30pm. This trivia platform will be fun and friendly for the younger Durango crowd. Come challenge your minds, have some great food and drinks and win some great prizes that include Gift Cards to The Roost, Cuckoos and Animas City Theatre!

On November 12, the Fort Lewis College Percussion Ensemble will present a concert of compositions written for both pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments. Included on the program will be Christopher Rouse’s Bonham. This classic work is an ode to rock drumming and drummers, most particularly Led Zeppelin's legendary drummer, the late John ("Bonzo") Bonham. The core ostinato of the score, played by the drum set, is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks, although there are references to other Led Zeppelin songs as well, such as Custard Pie and Royal Orleans. Also included on the concert will be works by Steve Reich, Nathan Daughtrey, Alan Hovhaness and Bob Becker.
