At 5:30, Emily Lloyd of Violet Mae Upholstery will talk about how to make art from recycled plastic. Join us in making a community art piece out of plastic. Please bring 2-3 pieces of clean, used plastic to be used in the art piece. This project will be started by the Durango community on First Friday, April 5, and will be finalized for the Earth Day event at Buckley Park, across from Durango Sustainable Goods on April 20, 2024. Come get your hands dirty as you create a unique Pet Bowl. We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy week, enjoy happy hour drinks, spend time with community artists, and most importantly hand-build a unique piece of pottery. By the end of the evening your piece will be ready for glazing. You will select a glaze which will be applied to your ceramic piece when fired. A new ink and marker has hit the market and will be making an exclusive debut in The ArtRoom on First Friday!   The ArtRoom Collective's featured artist for March is Heather Leavitt Martinez of Let's Letter Together! At our First Friday demonstration on March 1, 5:30pm, Heather Martinez will be sharing brush lettering tips. Stop by during the demo and leave with a FREE marker you can take with you. The ArtRoom Collective First Friday Art Crawl is March 1, from 4pm - 7pm. Come talk with local artists, be inspired by creative work, or buy a local, handcrafted item for yourself or a special someone at the Smiley Building at 1309 East Third Avenue in Durango, Colorado. Heather Leavitt Martinez is an award-winning author and lettering artist. When she's not traveling the world and drawing on walls, she's teaching lettering classes at The ArtRoom and around town. She also takes commissions: hand-lettered quotes and poems, love letters, sidewalk chalkboards, murals, and other signage.

A local Fort Lewis College Show!  Written by Sarah DeLappe and directed by Felicia Lansbury Meyer.   A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama, The Wolves takes us into the lives of a girls' high school soccer team and the experiences they share during their weekly Saturday morning pre-game warmups. Their annual high-energy après ski parties at Shambhala Music Festival have become legendary and their tracks have been supported by Diplo, Fedde Le Grande, Benny Benassi, Anna Lunoe, Zedd, David Guetta, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, JAUZ, Martin Garrix, Martin Solveig, Claptone, and more.   SkiiTour has accumulated over 6 million plays through streaming platforms and has made Mixmag & DJ Mag's "Track of the Month" multiple times. On top of their steady output of productions, they maintain a global touring schedule of 80+ shows per year, including festivals like Shambhala, Burning Man, Chasing Summer, Bass Coast, Snowbombing Canada and many more.    In the spring of 2022 they set out on a very successful 24-city APRAVÈS TOUR which had sold-out dates across Canada.
