Silverton Summer Train - Steam Locomotive

For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this train while spending a nearly 2-hour layover in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. Departing from the Durango Depot, this trip takes you up into the Rocky Mountains with views of the San Juan National Forest as you travel alongside the beautiful Animas River on your way to the historic mining town of Silverton. There will be up to three steam departures depending on the date. The Silverton Steam Train departs daily at 9:00AM 5/6/23-10/28/23, 8:15AM 8/14/23-10/14/23, and 9:45AM 9/1/23-10/14/23
Durango Arts Week - Basic Jewelry Making Techniques

Two Classes! 2:30 AND 4:30!   Students will discover fun and different guided projects that introduce basic jewelry making techniques. Colorful earrings with glass beads or polished stones, wire wrapping, and bracelets! We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy day, enjoy a happy hour drink, spend time with other artists, and most importantly enjoy the opportunity to sit, relax and make beautiful jewelry.

Alley Beautification Design Charrette

You're invited to bring ideas and contribute to a public Design Charrette hosted by Durango Creative District and Lola's Place with City of Durango planners and neighborhood designers DHM Design. This community event will be focused on creating a vision for a walkable, art-centric activation of the alley between Main Avenue and East Second Avenue.   What is a design charrette?  A design charrette is a rapid, intensive and creative work session for a design team to achieve an optimal and informed design for the future of the Main Avenue/East Second Avenue alley.   This charrette is open to the public and artists and designers are encouraged to join and share their ideas.
A Night Of Improv: Student Showcase!

Ezra Bell with special guest TBA  Doors 7:00pm / Show 8:00pm  $18 / $20   Ezra Bell was founded by Benjamin Wuamett and friends late in the summer of 2013. It was warm enough to sit on the porch into the evening and learn a couple of songs. A lap drum, a banjo and an out-of-tune guitar. Since then the cast of characters involved have moved around a bit. Having just finished their eighth studio album, they'll wander around a bit and see if anyone likes it.   The current cast of characters:  Jeremy Asay- piano, mandolin  Dave Asay- guitar, banjo  Elizabeth Anderson- Strings  Aaron Mattison- Horns  Tommy Mortenson- Upright Bass  John Myers- Drums  Benjamin Wuamett- Vocals
