For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this train while spending a nearly 2-hour layover in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. Departing from the Durango Depot, this trip takes you up into the Rocky Mountains with views of the San Juan National Forest as you travel alongside the beautiful Animas River on your way to the historic mining town of Silverton. There will be up to three steam departures depending on the date. The Silverton Steam Train departs daily at 9:00AM 5/6/23-10/28/23, 8:15AM 8/14/23-10/14/23, and 9:45AM 9/1/23-10/14/23

Passengers will board the Durango 10:15am bus to Silverton arriving at 11:45am. There will be plenty of time to explore and enjoy historical Silverton. Guests will depart on the Goose in Silverton at 1:15pm arriving at Durango at 5:00pm.   Train Fare*: $199.  Bus Fare: $30.  *plus 8% historic preservation fee

This is a perfect chance to connect with your teammates in a fun and light-hearted way. Let your imagination run wild, as you team up to unravel the missions. POSTPONED Gnarled Roots: Jewish Zine Fest

Gnarled Roots is a Jewish zine fest exploring the relationship between diasporic identity and what it means to live on stolen land. The event on will be a showcase including several examples of Jewish zines, diasporic artwork, as well as physical and digital art pieces created in response to our prompt. This event is open for everyone and anyone, either Jewish or non-Jewish, curious about engaging with Jewish identity, displacement and relationship to land.    We will invite all of our guests to participate in a land acknowledgement at 5:45PM to open the space, then visitors will be able to come and go to explore the zines freely.    As soon as you register you will have access to the prompt, detailed submission information, as well as the information for attending either virtually or in-person.    Register on Durango Public Library's event calendar, or ask a staff member for help!
