Gift Gallery

It's that time of year when lights twinkle, magic and cheer are in the air, and snow begins to fall. When everyone starts thinking about those they love, they begin their gift-shopping extravaganza! During this time, make sure you stop into DAC to shop in our new Gift Gallery!    The Gift Gallery will also be open during Downtown Durango's Annual Noel Night, where a hot chocolate bar for both adults and kids will be ready to warm you up as you shop from our local artists!
Pots and Pints - Ceramic Hand-building Happy Hour - Cup/Mug

It's a New Year which means a new you, and a new you need a new daily mug or cup! Come get your hands dirty as you create a unique and functional Cup! We will mix creativity with pleasure as we unwind from a busy week, enjoy happy hour drinks, spend time with community artists, and most importantly hand-build a cup or mug for the NEW Year! By the end of the evening, your piece will be ready for glazing. You will select a glaze that will be applied to your ceramic piece when fired. Look for an email telling you when your piece is ready for pick-up and use (about 16 days). Let the fun begin!   $30.00 Per Participant
First Friday Art Show

Create Art and Tea is now hosting First Friday. First Friday is an effort to bring art and charitable foundations together. On the First Friday of every month, Create Art and Tea will host an art opening featuring new artists.    Featured artists will choose a charity to support. A portion of the proceeds made from purchased art will go to the organization of choice. On opening night, you can expect light refreshments, live musical performances, the opportunity to meet the artists, and hear about the charitable organizations. The works for sale will remain in the loft area of the gallery for the remaining duration of each month.   Times may vary. Full Moon Howler: Snowshoe Fun!

One way to beat the darkness of this time of year is to get outside and enjoy it! While experiencing the alpine glow of the Twilight Peaks and the rise of the full moon, strap on your snowshoes and join SJMA staff for an 60-90 minute interpretive walk. Afterwards, take in the beauty of the moonlit landscape and mingle with like-minded folks while warming by the bonfire and sipping a nice hot beverage (hot cocoa and mulled wine will be provided by the Nordic Center). This is an event for the whole family.   Nordic Center Day Pass is required.
