The Durango Flea Market is an open-air market open to the public every Sunday from the first weekend of May through the first weekend of November.    We are only closed during Memorial Day weekend and the second Sunday in August during the La Plata County Fair.    We are conveniently located on North Main Avenue in the La Plata County Fairgrounds parking lot. Plenty of free parking for shoppers! You'll find great deals on just about everything under the sun: antiques, housewares, clothing & jewelry, toys, sporting goods, food and who knows what else!
Scenic Round Trip Silverton Train

Embark on an Incredible Journey Through the San Juan Mountains!   For a truly unforgettable step back in time, enjoy a leisurely trip to yesteryear riding 3 1/2 hours each way on this steam train plus spend 2 hours in the historic mining town of Silverton to enjoy the sights, shopping, food, and libations that Silverton offers. We’ve been in continuous operation running train excursions on this 45-mile spur of the Denver & Rio Grande rail line since 1882. Much of the scenery remains unchanged since then. There’s no cell service or Wi-Fi through much of the terrain so you’ll be unplugged from the modern world. Soak in the views, listen as the steam whistle echoes through the canyon, hear the vintage locomotive work to pull the train up the grades. If you long to unwind and enjoy Colorado nature at its finest, this is the trip for you.
Veterans Benefit Breakfast - Open to Public

Great opportunity to support your local veterans while enjoying a delicious breakfast! Open to the public, this event is held every 1st & 3rd Sunday of the month from 9 AM to 11 AM at the VFW Post 4031. Donations of only $8 for adults, $7 for veterans, and $5 for kids 12 and under. All proceeds help support local veterans!

Triumphant and Resilient: Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra Concert

Guillermo Figueroa leads our festival orchestra in the performance of Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, Op. 84, Brahms’s Symphony No. 1 in C minor, Op. 84, and the world premiere of Nan Schwartz’s “Tone Poem of Triumph,” a work commissioned to celebrate the resiliency of our community.   Join us for a free pre-concert lecture prior to this concert performance.   Please note: There will be no tickets available for purchase at the events this year; all tickets must be purchased in advance.   For Special Needs seating please call the festival office to assist you with your tickets 970-385-6820
