Coffee Connections: Your Health is Your Business
8:00am / Durango Chamber of Commerce
If we do not make time in the short term for our self-care, which is our most effective and empowering form of health care, the long-term cost is dysfunction and disease. Leaders often stop taking care of themselves when life gets overwhelming; self-care is seen as a nice to have and NOT a necessity. The reality is we will wait until we are sick or injured to act on our self-care, which comes at a huge emotional and physical cost.    In her talk, Dr. T will:    1. Uncover your health blinds spots,    2. Discuss your role in your health,   3. Show how to assess where you are on your health journey so you can get to where you need to go.   4. Share what the 5 key health behaviors are and how to stay consistent across those health behaviors for your short- and long-term benefit.   Your health is your greatest form of wealth. Let this talk help you not only get back on track with your health yet give you a framework on how to optimize your self-care health care for the long term.    Dr. Theresa is an author or WARRIOR, dynamic speaker, a former Marine Corps Engineer Officer turned Doctor of Physical Therapist (yet does not practice traditional PT), Founder of Movement Rx a health and wellness company that delivers LIVE and digital trainings, retreats, and health programs to organizations. Finally and most importantly, Theresa is a healthy human BEing, wife, and mother of two little boys.   Our monthly learning series explores a wide range of topics, industries, and organizations, all presented and highlighted by chamber members. This is a great chance to network with colleagues and get a grasp on a new topic within an hour. Free Registration.

She established correlations between thylakoid organization and photosynthetic capacity, defined organizational features of its ciliary axonemes, analyzed the assembly of its cell walls, and characterized its capacity to produce triacylglycerides as putative biodiesel precursors. Most research entailed analysis of its life cycle using mutant strains, (electron) microscopy, and molecular genetics. Its sexual agglutinins were purified and sequenced; its mode of sexual signaling via cAMP was established; an adhesin involved in gametic fusion was identified and sequenced; its mating-type locus was cloned and extensively analyzed; the gene that establishes mating type was identified and characterized; a pair of homeoproteins was shown to initiate development of the zygote; and genes involved in the transmission of chloroplast DNA were identified and characterized.
