Riverhouse Children's center, a local Durango non profit early education center, is excited to announce the return of their annual fundraiser, Cheers for Children.   Come enjoy a wine tasting, brought to you by Star Liquor, and bid on our silent auction while listening to live music and enjoying the beautiful views of River Bend Ranch. Old West Cowboy Music Show and Chuckwagon Supper. Durango's favorite family entertainment since 1969. Bar D Wranglers perform in concert after supper with music and songs of old west cowboys, comedy, and lively instrumentals. The show is fun for the whole family.    Activities, shops, and ticketing open at 4:30. Supper is at 6:30. Open Memorial Day Weekend through September - Rain or Shine ! Reservations are required.
Inspired Voices: Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra Concert
5:30pm / Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College
Our Festival Orchestra, led by Maestro Guillermo Figueroa and joined by the Durango Choral Society, directed by Linda Mack Berven, and the Caliente Community Choir, directed by Virginia Nickels Hircock, will perform the Great Opera Choruses, including:   FELIX MENDELSSOHN: Symphony No. 4 in A, Op. 90, ("Italian")  GEORGES BIZET: Chorus and March of the Toreadors, from Carmen  GIUSEPPE VERDI: "Va, pensiero"(Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco, "Vedi! Le fosche notturne spoglie" (Anvil Chorus) from Il Trovatore  RICHARD WAGNER: Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin  SCOTT JOPLIN: Overture to Treemonisha  ALEXANDER BORODIN: Overture and Polovtsian Dances from Prince Igor   Join us for a free pre-concert lecture prior to this concert performance at 4:30 at the Center for Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College.   For Special Needs tickets please call the festival office to assist you with your tickets 970-385-6820.
